Huh?

In contrast to the video I just made about how awesome tv is, I found a video on youtube pretty much degrading my beloved "idiot box." They make criticisms of how the generation that watches TV too much is dumb; how it fuels the class war, and all other sorts of stuff. Listen carefully to the lyrics of the songs in this video, and read the statistics. I guess they have a point, but it seems to me more like a hate TV cult, that is trying to promote books over TV. Well, what if you are a visual learner, like myself, and reading a book is much too mundane for you? TV can be good too! You can learn and see proof of interesting things that they show on the history channel, etc.
These people claim that if you watch TV, then you have no life. Well, if you sit around reading a book all day, doesn't that mean you have no life too? To be honest, I don't watch TV that often. I watch it when I have a little down time, a little time to relax. And to me that's it's main purpose; to entertain me, and allow me to drift from my reality a little. I don't think there's no harm in television. One just has to use it in the right ways; in ways that it will cultivate their minds, maybe show/teach them something like how to cook (Foodnetowrk Channel), in ways that it won't subract from their life but add to it.
